Finding My Rhythm Again: Listener, Nurse, and Taking Time for Me 🍵💪

Hey everyone!

I’m sitting here typing this quickly as I slip into my scrubs, getting ready to head off for an afternoon shift in the psych unit.

The last couple of days have been a bit rough I’ve been under the weather and stuck in bed, so physical exercise was completely off the cards while I let my body rest and recover.

But today, I was so keen to just get moving again!

I eased back into things with a nice 45-minute gym session:

  • 5 km on the stationary bike

  • 2 km on the treadmill

  • Finished off with some arms and abs work

It wasn't about pushing to maximum capacity, just listening to my body, getting the endorphins flowing, and nourishing myself along the way (including my absolute current obsession: a refreshing iced matcha latte! 🧊🍵).

Working in healthcare, it's so easy to pour all your energy into caring for others. A little reminder that really hit home for me today says:

“Remember to take care of yourself. Sometimes, you get so busy taking care of others that you forget that you are important, too."

Whether you work in caregiving, have a busy family, or are just juggling life's daily chaos, don't forget to put some of that kindness back into yourself.

Moving my body, losing weight, building my fitness, and chasing the simple things that bring genuine joy are my main focus right now.

I’m planning to share a lot more of this journey across my Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, showing the realistic ups and downs of balancing shift work, health, and happiness.

Now over to you:

What’s one small thing you did today just for you?

Let me know in the comments I’d love to hear what makes you happy so we can inspire and build on these goals together! 💕✨

Time to run off to shift! Speak soon x
